Production Director
A man of many talents, Sunny spent his college years experimenting in a variety of fields including Industrial Design, Business, and Graphic Design before settling on Design Management. Sunny joined the Forty team in November of 2007 as the Development Director and was excited to learn that he could make use of his seemingly arbitrary collection of acquired skills. “I love that I can come in and work on stuff that is completely unrelated to anything I worked on the day before. For instance, one day I’ll be working on a web app while the next day I come in and work on video editing,” he says.
Considering Sunny very rarely spent his days as a code monkey, his titled was recently updated to Production Director to more accurately reflect his actual job duties (information architecture, UX, design, etc.) An added perk to the job title change is that others are now very clear as to whether or not Sunny is an IT guy who can fix your email.
Born in Seattle, and raised in India, many would be surprised to know that Sunny was once attacked by monkeys while staying in an extremely nice hotel in India (he has the scars to prove it). In his free time, you can find him off-roading on high-rated trails around Arizona, editing videos, and producing music—something he wishes he could do more of.
Sunny lives by the teachings of Mr. T, whom he says ”... went from being poor and homeless to being known by almost everyone around the world (and I’m a big fan of macho beards.)” He also looks up to Mr. Chi City ”...because of his humor,” and is a fan of the books ‘Laws of Simplicity’ by John Maeda, ‘The Culture Code’ by Clotaire Rapaille, and ‘How to Procrastinate’ by Knock Knock.
When not at work, you can find Sunny at Refresh Phoenix, Gangplank, Social Media Club, and Phoenix Marketers events.
